Scotland
We sailed up from Ireland through the Hebrides on the West Coast of Scotland to Ullapool. The weather was rough which delayed our arrival and cancelled our shore trip. After Ullapool it was around the top to call into Invergordon with a side trip to Loch Ness. The final port was Edinburgh and a night at the Edinburgh Tattoo. The banner is the waterfront in Ullapool

First stop was Ullapool via a very stormy voyage with the Islands such as Skye just visible though the spray and rain. The small size of the fishing boats they venture out into the ocean is amazing. The mountains reminded me of Central Otago

Then it was onto Invergordon which is the main port for Inverness. Notable for all the Oil Exploration Rigs which are laid up because of the low price of oil and lack of interest in exploration. We drove through Inverness and crossed over the Caledonian Canal on our way back from Loch Ness. Photos below are of Janet at Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle

Then it was onto Edinburgh sailing under the Original and New Forth Bridges. In Edinburgh we caught up with Colin Forsyth ex Christchurch and now living back in Scotland, as well as sitting in the pouring rain for the Edinburgh Tattoo for a full Scottish Experience
