Coquimba, La Serena and Enchanted Valley, Chile
Coquimba and La Serena are adjacent cities on the coast of Chile north of Valpariso. During our visit on the 28th of February we travelled south to the Enchanted Valley or more correctly the Monumento Arquelogico Valle del Encanto, which is located in a valley tributary of the Rio Limari, leading from the Atacama Desert out towards the coast, 19km west of Ovalle. The Pictographs are of dancing stickmen and alien like forms carved by the El Molle Culture (AD 200 to AD 700). The guides explained that the antennae and spaceship looking helmets are representations of the headdress of medicine men and the like. Of course followers of the Chariots of the Gods and the X files know that these are early portrayals of alien visitor who were also responsible for the Nazca lines to the north
